🕯️ This true-sounding story was shared anonymously, dated back to 2006 — when mobile phones had keypads, and most journeys were still made by train…
📖 The Incident:
I was 19 then, traveling alone for the first time from Lucknow to Varanasi. I had boarded the night train around 9:30 PM from Charbagh Station. My compartment was nearly empty — just two other people: a quiet old man near the window and a young woman in the opposite berth, who got down after the first stop.
I had a middle berth ticket but decided to sit on the lower one for a while, waiting for the TC.
Around 1:15 AM, the train made a brief halt at an unknown station. No announcement. No nameboard. Just a dim light flickering outside.
That’s when he entered.
A tall man in black. Pale face. No luggage. No eye contact.
He quietly sat beside me... without asking.
🕳️ The Feeling:
Something about him was wrong.
He didn’t speak. Didn’t move. Just… stared at the wall.
I tried to ignore him. But every time I looked away…
I could feel his cold breath.
I finally asked, “Aapko kahan utarna hai?”
He turned…
His eyes were completely white.
No iris. No pupil. Just milky white sockets.
And then… he smiled.
That smile didn’t feel human.
⛓️ The Disappearance:
I stood up in panic and called for the TC. But when I turned back…
He was gone.
No sound. No footsteps. Just... vanished.
The seat was still warm.
But what chilled me was this — when I looked down at the spot where he had sat…
There was a long nail mark, scratched deep into the steel bench.
As if someone had clawed it.
As if he never sat there.
But hung there.
📿 Later That Night:
At around 3:33 AM, I finally dozed off. But I woke up to the sound of soft chanting.
I looked around.
Nobody was there.
But on the glass of the window, with moisture from the cold night…
...a handprint appeared.
From inside the window.
And below it, smeared slowly:
“Agle bar fir milenge…”
(We’ll meet again next time.)
